It’s been 20 years since we installed our first system and over the time, “I have seen it all”.
It’s been challenging and as each and every month passes, it gets even more challenging.
One very good note, the Solar Tax Credit has been increased back to 30% retroactive to January 2022.
Whether its companies that came in and took your money and now are out of business, or the lease scandal of the past eight years that promised to lower your electric bills, I call them the “Carpetbaggers”. They had a better idea on how to run the solar industry and now they are gone.
The only thing that is left of them are you and your solar PV System that is either not working right or completely broken, all because of a poorly designed install. Maybe it’s not producing power that you were promised or you don’t even know what it’s doing, but one thing is for sure, your electric bill is getting higher and higher every month. The thousands of dollars you invested is now sitting worthless. That’s where our Solar Dr. can help!
How about your roof? Maybe its leaking now because of bad solar mountings or the roof was just too old at the time, for solar. Now you need a new roof under the solar and can’t find someone to take down the system.

- Federal 30% Tax Credit (ITC) extended for 10 Years, retroactive as of January 2022.
- New York State Tax Credit 25% to a maximum of $5000.
- Unused tax credits can be carried over to successive years and also used as well for the Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT).
Important Updates
As a rule of thumb, you cannot build your system more than 110% of your average yearly electric costs. However, if you plan on buying an electric car, adding a pool, or central air conditioning, this rule can be exceeded within reasonable limits.
